Mixed Taste: Tag Team Lectures on Unrelated Topics
At each event, two speakers take the stage, each presenting on a completely unrelated topic for twenty minutes. But the real magic happens when the audience steps in, finding unexpected connections between the two subjects. With new guest speakers, poets, comedians, and surprises every week and the charismatic Bobby LeFebre as our host, it’s a night of intellectual exploration like no other. Join us at the Holiday Theater every Wednesday!
About Rick’s Lecture partner:
Rodney Viereck received a PhD in Space Physics in 1988 from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks studying aurora and airglow in the skies above Alaska and Svalbard. He is now retired after working for 31 years as a scientist for the US Air Force Research Laboratory and for NOAA’s National Weather Service studying how space weather impacts technologies at Earth. Rodney currently works part-time at the University of Colorado, supporting NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center by maintaining the OVATION Aurora Forecast model for the National Weather Service. Rodney and his wife love to ski, bike, hike, and build furniture. He also volunteers with Ignite Adaptive Sports teaching people with emotional and physical disabilities how to ski… but that’s another story.
